MAU overages trigger immediate billing
MAU thresholds are contracted upfront. Exceeding your contracted MAU limit triggers overage charges — typically at the same or higher per-MAU rate. Seasonal spikes in active users can cause unexpected cost increases.
SMS and WhatsApp are additional
Carrier fees for SMS and WhatsApp are billed separately from your platform fee. Some customers report these were not clearly disclosed during the sales process.
Braze Currents is enterprise-tier
Real-time event streaming (Braze Currents) is typically only available on Pro and above. Teams that need to pipe data to a warehouse will need to factor this into their tier selection.
