Hidden Costs

3 items
Why this matters
The advertised starting price is rarely the price you pay at scale. These are the costs buyers most commonly encounter after signing — ones that aren't prominently disclosed on the pricing page.
Foundation open lead limit
The entry plan caps at 100 open leads, functional for very small teams but most growing businesses will outgrow this quickly and need to upgrade.
Email marketing is a separate add-on
Email marketing campaigns are priced separately based on number of marketable contacts, billed monthly. This is not included in the base CRM plans.
Prospecting tools (IQ suite) are add-ons
ProspectorIQ, PeopleIQ, and VisitorIQ for finding and identifying prospects are sold as separate per-company add-ons starting at $37/month.

Negotiation Reality

What we know

Nutshell is transparent about pricing and does not typically negotiate heavily on standard plans. Annual billing is already factored into listed prices. Larger teams (20+) and multi-year commits have the most room. Worth comparing against Pipedrive and HubSpot Starter for budget-conscious teams.

Negotiation intel is based on first-hand vendor research conducted by the SBB team, third-party procurement data, and community-reported contract outcomes. Individual results vary. Discounts are not guaranteed.

General tips
  • Ask at end-of-quarter — sales reps have monthly and quarterly targets
  • Get competing quotes before your first call
  • Ask specifically about first-year discounts vs. renewal rates
  • Request a multi-year rate even if you plan to buy one year
